Godly Play Resources

Godly Play Resources for Storytellers & Parents

In Godly Play, as in the liturgy, we follow a lectionary.  We share the same cycle of stories, year after year.  Each year, as we grow and mature,  we encounter familiar stories with fresh insights, greater depth, and renewed wonder.

Storytellers carefully rehearse the words and gestures for each story, until they can tell the story not only "from memory" but also "from the heart."  You can watch master Godly Play storytellers tell the core stories on the Godly Play Foundation youtube channel.

Click on the links below  to explore the stories we'll be sharing in class each month, along with resources--songs, videos, prayers, and "Parent Pages"-- to help you continue to explore the Godly Play lesson at home throughout the week.

You'll find additional resources to support the spiritual life of your family on our Parents Group Page.

MUSICAL Resources

Music is an essential part of our spiritual practice at St. Gregory's, so we use music to transition between each segment of our Godly Play sessions.  We gather by singing "Come Join us In Our Circle of Friends".  We get ready for the story by singing "Be Still and Know that I Am God."  We sign an "Alleluia" as we clean up our work and return to the circle.  We sing "What We Need is Here" before the Feast.  We sing "I See the Light of God in You" to say goodbye.
