Come Sing & Dance to Jesus' Lead
Jesus, the Incarnation of God in human flesh, reminds us that bodies matter. So at St. Gregory’s we worship in ways that involve our bodies, as well as our hearts and minds.
We use a variety of gestures and body postures in worship, we use sign language, and we dance. Intentionally and actively using our bodies in worship prepares us to intentionally and actively practice our faith in the world.
Liturgical dance, like liturgical music, may be performed by professionally trained soloists; by a rehearsed group or choir; and by the entire congregation.
At St. Gregory’s congregational singing is our first priority when it comes to music. Likewise, congregational dancing is our first priority when it comes to dancing.
Below are several of the congregational dances we regularly use at St. Gregory’s. When we do these dances together, we share an experience of energy, connection and mutual support in worship as we heed the Psalmist's call to "praise God with tambourine and dance!" (Psalm 150)
