Baptism at St. Gregory's
Baptism is full initiation, by water and the Holy Spirit, into Christ's Body, the Church. We welcome people of all ages--babies, children, teens, adults, and elders-- to receive the sacrament of Baptism. Baptisms are typically celebrated during the Sunday Eucharist four times each year--on All Saints Sunday (November), The Baptism of Jesus (January), Easter Day (Spring), Pentecost (Early Summer.) The baptismal rite occurs in the middle of the liturgy, after the sermon and before communion. You can read the complete text of St. Gregory's baptismal rite here. Whether you are exploring the possibility of baptism for yourself or your child, seeking to live more fully into the mystery of your own baptismal promises, or looking for ways to support your children, godchildren, and friends in their baptismal journeys, we hope the resources below will support your exploration and growth.
If you'd like to discuss baptism with a priest at St. Gregory's, contact a member of the clergy. Once you talk to a staff person, please download and complete the baptism information form and return it to the church on Sunday, or send a scan of it to our email. As many as have been |
